Being a member of the Chicago Airport Watch Program, Chicago’s only law enforcement supported plane-spotting organization, does have its benefits. We have access to some of the best plane spotting areas around the airports in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin with the best being on the airport itself! This past October we had the privilege of an afternoon ramp tour around Chicago O’Hare the busiest airport in the world, movement wise, with 904,000 movements in 2018. We spent close to 4 hours on the roadways, taxiways and runways on this fine October day.


Several unique and special color schemes were seen and included, biz jets, regional jets, freighters, narrow and wide bodies, and fire training aircraft...

A Unique Partnership

In 2009 a unique partnership was formed between Milwaukee Wisconsin’s General Mitchell International Airport and Airbus headquartered in Toulouse France. This agreement has seen Airbus use Milwaukee as a base of operations to cold weather test quite a few of its newest aircraft. These have included A320-251N D-AVVB, A350-941 F-WWCF, A350-1041 F-WWXL A380-861 F-WWDD, A380-841 F-WWOW with the Rolls Royce Trent XWB-97 engine, and this month saw F-WTTE A330-941 NEO which first flew in December of 2017.

The Amazingly Strong 2018 Nellis Air and Space Expo

This year, being the 70th anniversary of the United States Air Force, and with the recent tragic shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival on the Las Vegas Strip, Nellis Air Force Base painted up two aircraft in very special paint jobs in honor of both for their annual Air and Space Expo.

A static F-15 had one side painted in commemoration of the USAF 70th anniversary, while the other side was in honor of those that had fallen in the mass shooting on October 1st.

A Nellis AFB Weapons School F-16 was also given a special look honoring both events as well. Kicking off the show each day and immediately following our national anthem, this F-16 performed multiple flybys for all in attendance...
