On the way back from the 2019 EAA AirVenture Oshkosh show, I spent a little bit of time in Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport,waiting for my flight back to Boston MA. Although Milwaukee and Green Bay are closer to OSH, ORD has many more direct flights and it’s easier to find a rental car there too. After dropping my car off and going through security, I arrived at my departure gate – Gate L2A – and began working my way down to the end of the corridor. Those gates at the end are across from the international terminal, and I was rewarded with a few out-of-the-ordinary jets that I hadn’t seen in Boston before my trip. A Lufthansa A-350-900 and Air Portugal A-330-900 added interest to the assorted American and United Airlines airliners during the hour or so that I had to spare, before darkness arrived.
