Wings Over Camarillo 2.0

A new format to the Wings over Camarillo Airshow was rolled out this year at the Camarillo Airport, which is also the headquarters for the Southern California Wing of the Commemorative Air Force. A increased area for the STEM exhibit, a larger car show, more modern military displays, and even a live concert Saturday night featuring the band ‘The Spazmatics’.

Before and after the show each day, Orbic helicopters was selling discounted helicopter rides once again, providing aerial views of the airshow as well as breathtaking views of the the coastline. Vintage AirVenture Adventure 2018

The 2018 EAA AirVenture Oshkosh attracted hundreds of “old” airplanes; many gravitated towards the EAA’s Vintage Aircraft Association, located just south of the Boeing Plaza on the AirVenture grounds. The Vintage Aircraft Association has three categories of older aircraft models, namely “antique”, “classic” and “contemporary”… for judging purposes. Many names from aviation’s Golden Age era, that time between the end of Wold War I and the beginning of World War II, were well represented. Those companies which produced aircraft after the end of the Second World War were present in large quantities too...

The Magic of AirVenture

“Magical” is one of the many words one could use to describe EAA’s AirVenture, staggering is another one to describe this years event held at Oshkosh Wisconsin’s Wittman Regional Airport. The statistics are in for this years event which was held from July 23rd to the 29th, approximately 601,000 people attended this year. More than 10,000 aircraft arrived at Wittman and surrounding airports, with Wittman’s 3 runways handling 19,588 total aircraft operations between July 20th and July 30th, that is an average of 134 movements an hour! Staggering to say the least.
