Passing through Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport on multiple flights from around the New Millennium, I saw a few different United Airlines color schemes, but only one American Airlines livery. The types of aircraft that were flown back then are somewhat different today, as are the two airlines’ colors. United has added the Continental Airlines aircraft since their merger, and American has added the U.S. Airways aircraft gained through their marriage.
